How pellet heating works

Also known as pellet (or biomass) heating, pellet stoves (or boilers, or generators) are equipped with a ventilation system for optimal combustion.
Pellets burn slowly, reducing energy consumption.
The boiler is connected to flues that ensure a good draught and optimal combustion, reducing wood consumption.

The system is controlled by an outdoor sensor and an indoor thermostat. The unit can be connected to a hot water circuit via a heat exchanger (except for the hot air generator).
– The outdoor sensor measures the outdoor temperature (and creates a heating law) for indoor needs. This is optional.
– The internal thermostat is set according to these measurements to ensure optimum pellet combustion and to meet the needs of the installation.

The pellets are conveyed to the combustion chamber by a screw conveyor. (or pneumatic suction system).
Fumes are exhausted to the outside via a flue pipe, while combustion is optimized to prevent the formation of carbon monoxide. A cyclone filter for fine particles is available as an option, if required by local authorities.

Pellet stoves and biomass wood heating systems are ideal for homes or industrial and commercial premises that cannot be connected to a domestic hot water circuit (boiler) or solar combisystem.

Its big advantage: A PLC manages combustion. This system adjusts in real time the quantity of combustion air to the proposed energy.

As a result, most pellet or biomass boilers on the market are more economical than other types of heating, and are stamped for POLYPOLES “class 5” according to EN 303-5, the best possible classification.
